In this class, brokers will learn about Colorado law addressing broker and property manager obligations with regard to trust accounting. The class will cover applicable statutory, rule, and case law, as well as the accounting principles for trust accounting required by the Colorado Real Estate Commission. The course will also cover new rules regarding broker obligations for trust accounting relating to short-term rentals, security deposits for broker-owned rentals, and other situations in which brokers might be handling money belonging to others.
