West and Main presents Art at the Market!
Come join us to have a quick to-go bite from Magasins (a local restaurant and small business owner), a beer from Prairie Artisan Ales (a local brewery), a chance to win a raffle by Prelude Coffee Roasters and Balance.Yoga.Barre, and best of all… beautiful art from local artists.
This month we will be hosting Jennifer Husmann and Tammy Brummell whose art you just have to see in person!
West and Main Homes give these artists a free space to display their unique pieces for the public to see. Like the art and want to We will give you direct contact to the artist, if you choose to purchase any pieces, and will not be taking any proceeds or commissions for any sales. This is our way to support our local artists, and bring color in a time that feels a little dark.
This will be an art walk style where you come in, view amazing art, grab some goodies and enjoy 8th Street Market for its amazing hybrid indoor/outdoor space for great conversation.
Art at the Market will be hosted the first Friday of every other month where we will display different local artists and always have yummy drinks, food and of course… beautiful art. We would love to see you!
About the Artist:
Jennifer Husmann
From the earliest of age, art has been a medium of self-expression for me. The canvas and palette are my song and voice and color has long been my symphony.
From art classes in school, to collaborating with my family’s art collection to sitting on arts councils and volunteering for the arts, art has always been a fundamental part of my life. It was not until 2016 that I reunited with brush and canvas and began to create once more. The ability to create and express brings an inner joy and peace and abstract art becomes my channel to other’s self- interpretation. My art becomes an intensely personal process that allows viewers to experience my abstract impressions with their own interpretations. Color and texture are my means. Layers of colors and textures excite the senses and elevate the emotional and physical mood. The use of many different mediums and paints make each color explode on the canvas with the rise and fall of each stroke. My paintings are expressed and captured to create a new and unique experience with each viewing.

Tammy Brummell
Tammy Brummell is an established Oklahoma based artist and designer, working in fine art and design. Her work has been featured in galleries, public venues, private collections, and retail locations including Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Leslie Powell Gallery, Mainsite Contemporary Art Gallery, DNA Gallery, Individual Artists of Oklahoma, Istvan Gallery, Plaza Festival, Paseo Arts Festival. Tammy has been featured in print publications, videos and television, including The Oklahoman, Edmond Magazine, Oklahoma Arts and Humanities Magazine, The Gazette, @1614 video by Christopher Hunt, Is this a Great State or What, FOX 25, KSBI, KFOR. Her current projects explore color, shape, texture and method. Applying rich bold brush strokes and color, she creates layers of intertwining stories.
