West + Main Homes, Inc, is happy to announce its new office location in Salida CO. This new location will allow West + Main agents serving Chaffee, Park, Lake + Pitkin Counties to better assist their clients and serve the surrounding communities.

A little about Salida…

Salida is hugged by the cool Arkansas River and was first established in the 1800s as a stagecoach stop and later as a stop-over for travelers on the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. Downtown Salida is on the National Register of Historic Places. It has the finest collection of historically significant buildings in the state and is Colorado’s largest historic district. A walk around the downtown district will bring this history to life. Salida is known as the “crossroads” or as its citizens prefer, the Heart of the Rockies!

Bend, Oregon - FRED is retiring!

Locally-owned and operated, FRED Real Estate Group was founded by Keeley and Fred Mannila almost fifteen years ago. The company's branding developed an almost immediate following and agents started flocking to the company.

"Initially, we thought it might just be Keeley and I, so calling the company FRED was a way for us to have fun with it,” said Fred. "But, it became so much more than that...we gave hundreds of agents a supportive, inclusive place to sell Real Estate. As we continued to grow, though, we started to think, hmmmm, how the heck are we ever going to retire, with my name all over the yard signs and websites?"

Enter West + Main Homes, a Colorado-based brokerage with a similar culture, mission and brand sensibility who today welcomes the FRED Real Estate team into its growing operation.

West + Main Homes was honored to bring an exclusive Military Relocation Workshop to Real Estate agents in the Greater Denver and Colorado Springs locations earlier this week.

Military Veteran and Relocation Expert Alison Wisnom, currently living with her husband in Annapolis, spent two days with Realtors from across Colorado sharing personal experiences and decades of knowledge regarding How to Best Serve the Military Community.

She said, "Agents in Colorado, in particular, should be open-minded in serving the military and veteran market, since the strong job market, high quality of life, and availability of services for military retirees make the Denver to Colorado Springs corridor very attractive to this group."

Before sharing some tactical ways to help the military community, Alison shared specific considerations affecting the military when relocating to a brand new place.

Also, sight unseen addendums could be your best friend when writing contracts.
