Meet Andi Janks
I create colorful and fun acrylic paintings out of my home in Boulder, Colorado. I first started as a way to stay busy after a head injury left me house-bound for a year. I found a passion that filled the world with more light, and sometimes laughter. Art for me is therapy and I hope that my paintings bring that healing into someone's home.

How did your business come to exist?
My art business came to exist after I had a bad head injury in 2016 that left me housebound. I bought a paint by numbers as a way to stay busy and avoid spiraling. But something amazing happened — the head injury changed how I perceived the world and all of a sudden, I saw details and things I had never seen before. I quit following the paint by numbers and started painting freehand, first replicas of other artists, and then my own original ideas. Art has primarily been a hobby/passion of mine, but over time, I started to receive requests and that's how my art business was born
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work and painting, I love to hike, bike, and kayak — being a stereotypical Coloradoan. I also really enjoy reading and learning, biohacking my body, and spending time with loved ones!

What is your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is finding inspiration when I'm feeling blocked and staying true to art that feels like me and not just something instagrammy or trendy where I live.
Do you like to win or hate to lose?
As much as I like to win, I hate to lose even more! You won't catch me at a casino for that very reason haha.

What is your dream project?
My dream project…probably a mural...if I ever have the guts to take one on. I would love to have my work on display when just walking around town.
