As we head into the center of summer, sellers who had hoped to find a buyer for their home before fall may be growing nervous. Below are a handful of tips on how to sell your home this summer.
Stage outdoor spaces. If you haven't already, play up areas where potential buyers will spend time outside, including grilling and eating areas, a hammock strung between two trees, or a cute cafe table in the garden.
Accent for summer. Choose bright summer accent colors to stage your space with, like sunny yellow and cool greens. And don't forget to hang curtains that let in light, and place fresh flowers inside the home.
Keep flexible showing hours. Summer can be a tough time to sell because folks are on vacation or busy keeping the kids entertained. Be as flexible as you can with your showing hours to meet the needs of buyers with in-flux schedules.
Get a pre-list home inspection. Showing your buyers you've done this work for them can provide a leg up over other listings. They will likely still want their own inspection, but assuming your pre-listing inspection was accurate, they will be less likely to find an issue you haven't already addressed.
Control the temperature. Your family may not mind balmy indoor temperatures during warm months, but your buyers might. Be sure to keep the home cool so you don't lose anyone on temperature alone.
