Tigerlily Goods started with a simple idea… a greener way to gift.

We have a passion for sustainablility and giving a gift that grows! We believe that by eliminating cut stems from gift giving, we are creating an atmosphere that gives back, rather than contributing to the inevitable waste created by the floral industry.

TLG is locally owned and operated by a 7th generation Colorado native and a longtime Sunnyside resident who finds that keeping it local helps to build a stronger community. Gift locally! Think globally.

Learn more about Neicy + Her Method

I own a sweet little plant shop in the Highlands called Tigerlily Goods. We specialize in easy to care for houseplants and provide a more sustainable form of gifting through living plants and succulents gardens as opposed to traditional floral arrangements. We love to arm our clients with the tools they need to successfully raise their plants and offer plant doctor services for the life of the plant, whether they purchased from us or not. We also offer interior plantscaping services for commercial and residential. We assess the light and temperature in your space and advise which plants will do best. Our team will then install your new plants and provide weekly maintenance so your home or office is always lush and lovely.

How did your business come to exist?

I worked as a florist for a few years and saw the massive waste generated by the floral industry. So much product never even makes it into retail shops, even more is wasted during processing, and when it finally does reach the customer, it has a lifespan of just a few days before ending up in the trash, along with a vase you eventually donate to Goodwill. I saw the need for a more sustainable form of gifting through living plants and beautiful pots and Tigerlily Goods was born.

What are you known for?

I'm known for my dedication to customer service. I love people and people love plants, it's as simple as that...and I wouldn't be here without them. I thrive on the energy from others and love sharing my knowledge. Together we learn and grow stronger as a community of plant lovers.

What are you working on right now?

Currently I'm working on expansion. I'm looking to move into a larger space in the next few months and plan to add more commercial accounts to cushion the increase in rent. From furnishing plants for small businesses, like restaurants and salons to adding more satellite locations like Leever's Locavore and Larimer Records Cafe, I can reach more plant lovers. It's fun to be the boss and decide where and when you want to grow. Which leads me to the next question...

What is your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is learning when to delegate responsibility. As a small business owner, it's very often a one woman show. I find it so much easier (and faster) to just do something myself rather than showing someone else how to do it and many times run myself ragged. I truly enjoy the work though so it makes it that much more rewarding to be exhausted at the end of a busy day. One of my goals is to learn how to hand things off to make more room on my plate...which I'll no doubt promptly fill up, haha!

What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

The best piece of advice I ever received was from my mom and I draw on it constantly. Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. This has saved my butt so many times! While in the shop looking at orders that aren't due for a few days, it's sometimes tempting to put it off until the next day, but I never do. You never know when you'll get hit with a rush that lasts all day and you'll be so glad you got your orders done. If you manage your time wisely, you'll always make it home in time for dinner :)
