Telluride is still on my bucket list - and after seeing all these pictures - and knowing it is "The most beautiful place you will ever ski" - my visit needs to happen in the next 365 days!
Today's blog is going to be picture heavy - and for good reason! But the real reason is that when I begin to research these destinations #milesfromdenver - I start by scrolling Instagram to find photos to use in my "square" for my insta post. I then ask the people if I can use their photos for my blog series - sometimes I have to resort to finding another source.... this time - so many people said YES!! If this says anything about the people that live there and the people that visit - its that they are amazing! Take @moxiefamilyadventures for example. "We moved to Telluride in 1999, planning to stay just 2 years "to be ski bums before we got serious". We could never leave! (Except for the 3 years we left to live on a sailboat...) 20 years later, we are still excited to wake up here in the morning to be raising our kids here and to be part of this eclectic, like-minded community."
"Play hard. Eat well." Say it with us. - is the first line of the Dining & Nightlife page of visittelluride.com. I guess there are some important chefs that choose or maybe even recruited to work in the cute town with a population under 3,000 people. @lastlineofdefense says "It (Telluride) was beautiful with the changing colors and Brown Dog Pizza was delicious, haha."
Since moving to Colorado, when I hear the name Telluride - I think of the famous
Telluride Blues & Brews Festival. There are three stages, five late night venues, over 30 artists, over 50 craft beers, a 5k and more! Even if you don't like "blues" music - and just happen to be in Telluride that weekend in September! @danielschim is on stage as he is one of Sam Bushs sound men. @hive1080.bee.haven has the opposite view as she traveled from Utah to be a festival go-er!
I'm sure there is so much this town has to offer - so here are some photos for teasing your eyes!
@bashjelen took this waterfall picture and says Sheesh. Where to start. It's just about the most picture-esque, special, one of a kind town in Colorado! Full of the best people!
WINTER - If you haven't figured it out yet - "The most beautiful place you will ever ski"!
SPRING - Hot springs, restaurants and trails are less crowded!
SUMMER - Paddleboard, Music Fest, Hike, Bike.... all the CO things!
FALL - They call this their "off-season" and even some of the restaurants close - so plan your trip accordingly. I'm sure the changing colors will be beautiful!
